Fork seals are not bad to replace if you have an impact wrench. O-rings on the manifoild are a little harder for all of the tight places and things you have to remove to get to them. Make sure that you lube them up well and get them going in straight. (I had to redo mine) While in there that deep, you might want to look at all of your hoses and replace your water pump seal. I replaced all of my hoses because a guy that was with us on a 86 blew a hose and as mine was only 4 years newer replaced all of mine. The next year my o-rings were leaking. Got them fixed and waterpump seals started leaking. Four times in same area.

Carl said as the manifold was made of such thin metal that it would be good idea to paint it while I had it off. You might check wit Carl about hints to reinstall of maifold.

Okay so I have the Star Touring Chapter Picnic Saturday in Bloomington. If Folks are going to be there all day sunday or most of the day I will head down Sunday morning. When is everyone taking off?

I'm going to be down there Fri. night or afternoon. Plan to leave Wednesday. Well, that's the plan right now. I may go for Thurs. night thru Tues. Then again it might be.................. you know how it goes. I will be there for the whole weekend. Just don't know how far ahead or behind the weekend.

John and I will be staying at the Super 8 all weekend and then Monday we plan to head north along a river route to Hannibal.

I planned this as a weekend thing so most will probably be there close by through Sunday. I will....

Since I'm still 'down' and on the 'injured list', I have a request for each of y'all that are going. It may sound 'silly', but hey....how many of us can be accused of being 'sane' all the time?

My request is simple enough....

For each of you that are covering any great distance, dedicate a hundred miles for me?


When everybody gets to the designated spot and y'all start partying....tip back a beverage for me as well?

I'd love to be there, but still waiting on the insurance company to stop jerking me around and just settle up.

Thanks Lone Star. We will do just that. If you don't have a bike, why not bring a 4 wheeler? A bunch of of are going to be just shooting the bull over the weekend. Count is going to have a 4 wheeler there for jaunts into St. Louis. You know, You are more than welcome. It would be good to meet you.

So Chris and Gray Beard what is for time frame and what is your route?

Also Arkansas and who ever else might be heading there from around here.

Bob, more than likely, Rick and I will be leaving KC on Friday. Not sure when, but maybe around 1 or 2pm. Told the boss the other day I'd like to be out of there (here) just after lunch, so we would be rolling into St. Louis in time for dinner. Haven't talked to Rick about it, but I'm thinking of possibly heading for home Sunday a.m., but that's not set in stone. I suppose I could burn a vacation day and head for St. Louis Friday morning, but I'd have to check on that.

Route would most likely be I-70 (keeps you awake dodging trucks and cages), but mob rules, LOL.

Just checked mapquest and found that it is only 22 miles more going up through KC than taking 54. I will let you know as time gets closer.
