Why oh why does it appear that everyone pulls off the rear speakers?

I know that when I had my Voyager, those rear speakers were great! Adjust the balance and fade properly, it was like being surrounded in your music....

I've noticed very few Voyagers for sale that still have the rear speakers....*sighs sadly*

Well,,,,,this one does not have speakers on the rear because Kawasaki never put them on the 86 models. But the bright side for us was that the luggage rack is actually widder and more craddling if I can use that term then the later models. Thus more useful to us, it is great for touring or long trips.
Our 96 has the speakers on it and speaking for myself I would rather have the 86 rack with out speakers. Have been sitting here thinking about how we are gonna haul anything up there on that 96 unit. Guess I could stap a pack of cookies down on the rack. But the tour pack sure won't fit, not yet anyways! But then I'm still pondering on it.

I removed the rear speakers from our '03 because we find the radio to be distracting and very rarely use it and we wanted the extra space to strap luggage to the top of the trunk. Took them off our '98 also and never missed them in 50,000 miles.

I have the rear speakers on the 97, but I am seriously thinking about taking them off. We mostly use the headsets for music, and if I am by myself I use the front speakers only. I think for the rear speakers to sound good, they would need to be hooked up to a large cleaner amp. Not impressed by the rear speakers. I hooked up a set from my 87 to my 40 watt home stereo "B" speaker input and that still was not impressive. Sounded better than the stock stereo setup on my 97 as I was comparing them, but still not worth much.
